Tia Tacey
Head Kid’s Instructor - Owner
Tia began her journey in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in 2020 while living in New Jersey. What initially started as a fun extracurricular activity quickly transformed into a true passion. After moving back to Michigan, Tia discovered Assembly, where she found a supportive and welcoming community that helped her grow both as a practitioner and as a person.
With a degree in child development and psychology, Tia has always been deeply interested in understanding how children learn and grow. This background has been invaluable in her work as a kids' instructor, where she combines her academic knowledge with her BJJ experience to create a positive and engaging learning environment. Her passion for the sport grew even stronger as she realized how BJJ could foster confidence, discipline, and resilience in young students.
As Tia’s skills in both Jiu-Jitsu and teaching progressed, so did her commitment to sharing the sport with others. Now, as an instructor, she strives to empower students to reach their full potential, both on and off the mat, and continues to be inspired by the positive impact BJJ has on young people’s lives.
Tia received her Purple belt from David Garmo.
